Our client is seeking a Shift Engineer to become a vital part of their Engineering Team.
This company specializes in producing a diverse array of high-quality sweet and savory bakery items, including gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs, and teacakes. They have the capacity to produce over 1 million baps and burger buns daily.
The Senior Shift Engineer will collaborate with the Engineering Team, focusing on executing planned maintenance and repairs on production machinery, equipment, and facilities to guarantee the safety and reliability of the production process. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous and thorough approach to maintenance tasks, along with strong literacy and numeracy skills. Experience in a similar engineering role is essential, with a background in diagnosing issues and implementing corrective measures. Knowledge of plant maintenance systems is crucial, as is the ability to work effectively within a team, where excellent communication skills are paramount.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in leading Continuous Improvement projects within the bakery sector and to develop a deep understanding of the engineering requirements associated with bakery process systems and machinery. Key Responsibilities:
As a Shift Engineer, you will be an integral member of a skilled cross-functional maintenance team, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards at all times. You will respond promptly and effectively, particularly during breakdown situations. Additionally, you will assist mechanical engineers in their tasks and contribute to the training of fellow maintenance engineers and production staff as needed. Your active participation in a culture of Continuous Improvement will be essential, as you will consistently identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and minimize waste. A positive attitude is crucial to uphold good working practices and ensure that planned maintenance is executed according to strict schedules with meticulous attention to detail. You will also engage in various projects, including the installation and modification of equipment, while continually seeking ways to improve equipment reliability.
