Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team, you will be responsible for providing advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions, including those requiring surgical intervention.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced physiotherapists, technicians, and assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of orthopaedic services across the Trust, including the development of new services and the improvement of existing ones.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours Orthopaedic services, including weekend and twilight shifts.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of research projects and studies, including the collection and analysis of data.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated physiotherapist with a strong background in orthopaedic physiotherapy. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc equivalent) and a strong understanding of orthopaedic physiotherapy principles and practices.
  • Documented evidence of self-development and relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to manage a complex caseload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
