About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Medical Physiotherapist to join our Medical Therapy Team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced assessment and treatment for a range of highly complex patients on our medical wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for complex patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy management and treatment plans, utilizing clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice.
  • Supervise and mentor Band 5 physiotherapists, physiotherapy technicians, and students, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of physiotherapy services, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing expert advice and education to ensure effective patient care.
Requirements
  • BSc/MSc Physiotherapy qualification and HPCP registration.
  • Experience of working with complex medical patients and managing caseloads.
  • Respiratory experience to on-call standard.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Leadership and management skills, with experience of supervising and mentoring staff.
