About the RoleWe are seeking a part-time locum consultant to join our established Youth FIRST community Forensic CAMHS service, covering the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for clinicians skilled in working with young people with complex mental health and risk presentations.
Main Responsibilities- Manage patient caseloads, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality advice, consultation, assessment, and intervention.
- Liaise with referrers, case managers, and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to service development, working closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Provide consultant leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior staff members.
- Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and research initiatives to enhance service outcomes.

Requirements- Full GMC registration
- Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983)
- Eligible for Approved Clinician status
- Commitment to personal programme of Continuing Professional Development
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Substantial experience of psychiatry, including working with young people suffering from severe mental illness
- Commitment to clinical audit within multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of teaching and training at an undergraduate/postgraduate level
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to be involved in management of service
- Evidence of potential for effective leadership
- Able to travel
- MRPsych or equivalent
