About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Mars (New), a leading manufacturer of confectionery and other food products. As a Mechanical Engineer Nights, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and ensuring the highest levels of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting and resolving issues with minimal guidance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance on process and packaging equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Training and Development: Train operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities and provide technical support to ensure efficient and effective equipment operation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document work orders and maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system, and complete daily maintenance reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure seamless equipment setup and adjustments, and participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Qualifications: Suitably qualified in an engineering discipline, supported by relevant experience and a strong understanding of maintenance management principles.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings, and be able to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
