Head Veterinary Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team as Head Veterinary Nurse at our Springfield Veterinary Group location.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled Veterinary Nurse to lead and develop a branch within our group. As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring high standards of patient care, and contributing to the overall success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Veterinary Nurses, ensuring excellent patient care and high standards of practice.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and staff development.
  • Collaborate with our head nurse at our Crystal Peaks site to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Conduct regular health and safety checks, stock control, and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to meet the needs of the branch and the group.
  • Monitor and improve clinical standards, including clinical audits and cleaning audits.
  • Work closely with our caretaker to maintain the building and ensure it meets health and safety regulations.
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who is a strong leader, excellent communicator, and team player. You will have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and confident in all areas of general small animal nursing.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, and you will be working 40 hours per week with a share of Saturday mornings. You will be based at our Hackenthorpe branch, but will also assist the Head Nurse of Crystal Peaks.
