Director of Forensic Accounting

Role Overview:
The Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services ("FAAS") division operates within the broader Forensic & Litigation Consulting framework, which encompasses our Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Construction Disputes, and Financial Services sectors.
The FAAS division provides an extensive array of forensic accounting and investigative services to clients globally. Our services include forensic accounting, fraud and corruption investigations, regulatory compliance, asset tracing, litigation support, and financial crime advisory.
The London branch of the FAAS division seeks professionals with substantial and diverse experience to join a team recognized as a market leader by industry authorities.
As Managing Directors ("MDs"), you will engage directly with clients and generate work as forensic accountants, typically overseeing smaller projects and serving as the lead on larger engagements. You will play a crucial role in managing a thriving practice that operates across EMEA, leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on various engagements that often involve data analytics, e-discovery, business intelligence, and forensic accounting. You will participate in high-profile projects, including internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and litigation, primarily involving large corporations and high-net-worth individuals in EMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing engagements, which will involve collaboration with client personnel, FAAS team members, and professionals from related fields.
- Conducting financial analysis and assisting clients in identifying and documenting complex investigative issues.
- Organizing information to enhance data accessibility and analysis.
- Performing industry and company research using online resources and publicly available data, assisting in the preparation of reports and schedules for clients.
- Applying accounting and analytical skills to various client scenarios, including detailed reviews of financial statements and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Maintaining comprehensive working paper records that reflect methodologies and sources used during analytical tasks.
- Delivering high-quality outputs within set deadlines.
- Drafting written analyses and reports for third parties as required.
- In addition to managing new engagements, MDs will develop market strategies, collaborating with senior management and business development teams to identify and secure opportunities, while also managing and growing the wider team.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent international accounting qualification.
- Significant experience in forensic and/or investigative roles.
- Broad experience across various case types, including financial statement fraud, procurement fraud, asset tracing, money laundering, bribery/corruption, and internal controls assessments.
- Experience leading small engagements or serving as delivery lead on larger projects.
- Deep career experience in investigations.
- Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Developing a specialization within the forensic accounting field.
- Ability to generate substantial work from established client relationships.
- Extensive network within major law firms and corporate clients.
- Experience managing cases of varying sizes, from medium to large multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients in high-pressure situations.
- Experience interfacing at the board level.
- Strong aptitude for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Capability to produce well-structured, concise reports with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment to meet client needs.
- Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally at short notice.
- Experience providing expert testimony is highly regarded.
