Director of Forensic Accounting

Overview:
The Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services ("FAAS") division operates within the broader Forensic & Litigation Consulting sector, which encompasses our Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Construction Disputes, and Financial Services practices. This division provides a comprehensive suite of forensic accounting and investigative services to clients globally, including forensic accounting, fraud and corruption investigations, asset tracing, litigation support, and compliance with financial crime regulations.
The FAAS team in London is seeking candidates with extensive and diverse professional backgrounds to enhance our reputation as a market leader, recognized by industry authorities.
As a Managing Director ("MD"), you will engage directly with clients and drive business development efforts. You will typically oversee smaller projects and serve as the lead on larger engagements, playing a crucial role in the management of a thriving practice across the EMEA region. The role requires the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, as many projects involve data analytics, e-discovery, business intelligence, and forensic accounting. You will participate in high-profile engagements, including internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and litigation matters, primarily involving large corporations and high-net-worth individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing engagements, collaborating with client personnel, FAAS team members, and professionals from related fields.
- Conducting financial analysis and assisting clients in identifying and documenting complex investigative issues.
- Organizing information to enable effective data access and analysis.
- Performing industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information, preparing reports and schedules for clients, and fostering productive relationships with client personnel.
- Applying accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations, including detailed reviews of financial statements and the application of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Maintaining thorough working paper records that reflect assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information used during analytical tasks.
- Delivering high-quality outputs within established deadlines.
- Preparing draft analyses and reports for third parties regarding project scope and results.
- In addition to managing new engagements, MDs will develop go-to-market strategies, collaborating with Senior Management and Business Development Teams to identify and secure potential opportunities, while also managing and growing the wider team.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent international accounting qualification.
- Significant experience in forensic and/or investigative roles.
- Broad experience across various case types, including financial statement fraud, procurement fraud, asset tracing, money laundering, bribery/corruption, and internal controls reviews.
- Experience as engagement lead on smaller matters or delivery lead on larger projects.
- In-depth career experience within investigations.
- Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Developing a specialization within the forensic accounting sector.
- Ability to generate substantial work from established client relationships.
- Extensive network of contacts within major law firms and corporate clients.
- Capability to manage cases of varying sizes, from medium to large multi-jurisdictional cases.
- Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients in high-pressure situations.
- Experience interfacing at the board level.
- Strong aptitude for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Proficient in preparing clear and concise reports with minimal oversight.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to meet evolving client needs.
- Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally on short notice.
- Experience in providing expert testimony is highly valued.
