About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of volunteers across our trust-wide services.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain volunteers, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered.
- Manage volunteer rotas, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing gaps in service.
- Provide excellent customer service to volunteers, patients, and staff, responding to queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Officer to develop and implement volunteer training programs, ensuring volunteers have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Prepare and submit reports on volunteer activity, including hours worked, volunteer satisfaction, and any issues or concerns.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, training, and other relevant information.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community groups, schools, and other organizations to promote volunteer opportunities and engage new volunteers.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to volunteer management, ensuring compliance with trust and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in volunteer management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and duties.
- Knowledge of business practices, stock control, and IT systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
