Job Title: Head of Materials Commercial Programme

UKAEA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Materials Commercial Programme, responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the commercial portfolio for the Materials Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the expansion of testing activity in the £50m MRF laboratory by creating new commercial fusion industry multiyear contracts and exploring opportunities beyond fusion.
  • Develop business cases for the creation of new MRF satellite/external test facilities.
  • Promote Materials Division and MRF delivery internationally.
  • Lead new research grant/research collaboration bids in excess of £1m.

Requirements:

  • Commercially astute with a strong ability to seek out new business opportunities and manage potential risks.
  • Cost-conscious with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • STEM literate and credible, with a strong understanding of the science field.
  • Ability to travel internationally, with approximately six trips per year.
