About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to join our team as a Deputy Head of Tax. As a key member of our tax leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the UK tax team and leading on corporation tax reporting matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and sign-off of tax reporting for several key re/insurance entities and service companies.
  • Key contact for senior stakeholders across all MR UK businesses on tax matters.
  • Advising on UK tax matters, taking a pragmatic approach to tax advice and engaging advisers where necessary.
  • Managing advisers and advisory spend on projects, ad hoc work, and throughout the UK corporation tax compliance cycle.
  • Leading on Pillar 2 for UK Local Reporting and Compliance, working closely with all Munich Re UK entities in scope.

Requirements

  • Qualified tax accountant with post-qualification experience of working in an in-house tax team.
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate clearly to both tax specialists and non-tax specialists alike.
  • Desirable: basic knowledge of UK corporation tax and a keenness to develop a sound knowledge of UK VAT and IPT principles.
