Commercial Underwriter - Property & Liability

This position requires travel for broker visits across the North West market, so flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as a multi-class underwriter, operating within established guidelines and authority levels to profitably expand the business portfolio.
  • Engage in effective communication, conducting meaningful face-to-face meetings with brokers and clients to foster trust and position Aviva as their preferred insurer.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the brokers' and clients' business.
  • Embrace and comprehend our SME strategy.
  • Exhibit curiosity to enhance understanding of the commercial sector.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in property and liability underwriting is crucial.
  • Ability to assess risks and communicate findings effectively to brokers and clients.
  • Collaborative mindset to work within a large, complex organization.
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Strong commercial acumen to create and present compelling business cases.
