Position Summary: As the Chief Business Officer (CBO) for our UK Commercial sales teams, you will be at the forefront of driving revenue and strategic expansion within the UK market.

Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Managing Director, EMEA, while collaborating closely with the Global Chief Business Officer, Advertising Revenue. Your leadership will guide a team of Heads of Industry, focusing on the transformation and execution of innovative commercial strategies tailored for the UK market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize insights and digital acumen to propel cross-platform revenue growth by analyzing consumer behavior, identifying market trends, and understanding competitive landscapes.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, including the Managing Director, EMEA, and the Global Chief Business Officer of Advertising Revenue, to effectively implement overarching global strategies in the UK.
  • Drive revenue enhancement by refining existing sales approaches and introducing novel, innovative strategies across all platforms, with a strong emphasis on digital initiatives.
  • Lead a senior team of Heads of Industry, each responsible for key sectors such as Fashion, Beauty & Luxury, Travel, Home, BizFiTech, Media, Entertainment & Auto.
  • Ensure the Commercial sales teams maintain a rigorous focus on data analytics to establish team and individual performance metrics.
  • Elevate the commercial sales function by setting new standards for excellence and performance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients and agencies, while enhancing existing partnerships to improve renewal rates and stimulate new business opportunities.
  • Foster collaboration with Editorial and Creative teams to ensure alignment in content strategy, facilitating successful cross-platform program execution.
  • Work alongside Editorial leadership to deliver profitable, world-class events, creating new opportunities that align with the brands' creative vision.
  • Develop talent and cultivate a culture of collaboration, performance, respect, and excellence within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a commercial sales function within the media sector.
  • Extensive background in commercial revenue generation, with a proven track record of successfully transforming and driving revenue across multiple platforms in a global context.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a commitment to people management and a history of building high-performing commercial teams, particularly in digital environments.
  • A creative and inspirational leader who fosters an inclusive and empowering workplace.
  • Experience in shaping and implementing global commercial strategies within the media and publishing industries.
  • A robust network within the media sector.
  • A self-motivated individual with high energy and strong presentation, creative, and analytical capabilities.
  • A genuine passion and knowledge of Condé Nast's brands.
