Company Overview:

A supportive educational institution in the Nottingham area is looking for a dedicated, confident, and well-organized Advanced Teaching Assistant to become part of their team. This is a full-time, permanent role, operating Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM, during term time only.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Prior experience in an educational or childcare environment
  • Ability to confidently deliver lessons and assist students in the absence of the classroom teacher
Role Objectives:
  • Collaborate with children as part of a team under the overall guidance of the Headteacher, who oversees the educational program and discipline within the National Curriculum Framework.
  • Encourage student participation in both social and academic activities by recognizing individual needs and implementing suitable responses.
  • Motivate students to become independent learners and help elevate the achievement standards for all.
  • Deliver planned lessons to entire classes in Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 (PPA cover).
  • Design, implement, and assess learning activities for individuals and groups of students in accordance with best practices and national standards.
  • Perform designated duties with individuals, groups, or classes under the direction of a qualified teacher in compliance with The Education (Specified Work & Registration) (England) Regulations 2003.
  • Promote and ensure the welfare of young individuals you engage with during your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist all students in engaging with learning activities by employing effective strategies and adapting resources as needed.
  • Contribute to the planning and assessment of teaching and learning activities, sharing insights and providing constructive feedback.
  • Support students by understanding their unique needs, learning objectives, and required assistance, offering encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Lead scheduled sessions and activities in the absence of a teacher when necessary.
  • Implement and consistently apply an effective behavior management strategy, reinforcing positive conduct.
  • Provide literacy and numeracy support to individuals and groups, tracking progress and addressing challenges as they arise.
Specified Work Duties:
  • Collaboratively plan and prepare lessons.
  • Deliver lessons to groups of students.
  • Assess the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide feedback on students' development, progress, and attainment.

All quoted pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in some cases.
