A supportive educational institution in the Nottingham area is looking for a dedicated, skilled, and proactive Advanced Teaching Assistant to become part of their team. This role is a full-time, permanent position, operating Monday to Friday during term time.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Experience in educational or childcare environments
  • Ability to effectively deliver lessons and assist students in the absence of the classroom teacher
Role Objectives:
  • Collaborate with children as part of a team under the guidance of the Headteacher, who oversees the educational program and discipline within the National Curriculum Framework.
  • Encourage student engagement in both social and academic activities by recognizing individual needs and implementing suitable responses.
  • Support students in becoming independent learners and help enhance overall achievement levels.
  • Deliver planned lessons to entire classes across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
  • Design, implement, and assess learning activities for individuals and groups in accordance with best practices and national standards.
  • Execute designated tasks with individuals, groups, or classes under the supervision of a qualified teacher as per The Education (Specified Work & Registration) (England) Regulations 2003.
  • Safeguard the welfare of young individuals during interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist all students in participating in learning activities by employing effective strategies and adapting resources as needed.
  • Contribute to the planning and assessment of teaching and learning activities, sharing insights and providing constructive feedback.
  • Support students by understanding their unique needs, learning objectives, and necessary assistance, offering encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Lead planned sessions and activities in the absence of a teacher when required.
  • Implement and consistently uphold an effective behavior management strategy, reinforcing positive conduct.
  • Provide literacy and numeracy support to individuals and groups, tracking progress and addressing challenges as they arise.
Specified Responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively plan and prepare lessons.
  • Deliver lessons to groups of students.
  • Assess the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide feedback on students' development, progress, and attainment.
