Job Title: Specialist Teaching Assistant

An Exciting Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team at The Children's Trust. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support for children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex therapeutic, medical, and health needs.

Under the direction of the teacher and with support from the class team, you will be responsible for the development and education of all pupils in your allocated class. You will work closely with the teacher to provide a holistic approach to education, health, and care, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health, and care.
  • Work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher.
  • Support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities.
  • Assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex therapeutic, medical, and health needs.
  • Provide a high standard of direct care, including personal care.
  • This contract is for 48 weeks that the school is open.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a natural and enthusiastic leader, able to provide challenge and support to a high-performing team. You will also need to be able to work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher and provide a high standard of direct care, including personal care.
