About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team at The Children's Trust. As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and care of our pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities to pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and complex therapeutic, medical, and health needs.
  • Assist pupils with communication and interaction, cognition, and learning difficulties to learn and achieve their goals.
  • Provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and assist with the preparation of resources needed for lessons.
  • Support pupils with sensory and/or physical needs to access and maximize learning opportunities.
  • Assist in the administration of medication and contribute to the overall care and well-being of our pupils.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with complex needs.
  • Ability to work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher or senior specialist teaching assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within a team environment.
