About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and skilled practitioner in the field of emergency care, with significant experience at a senior level. They will be able to demonstrate a proven clinical ability and manage all aspects of the Emergency Department on a daily basis, including a real understanding of flow and capacity.

The role will involve rotating into every area of the ED, undertaking the roles of Nurse-in-Charge and Emergency Nurse Practitioner, and being involved in the streaming of appropriate patients to Primary Care. The successful candidate will also be given significant areas of managerial responsibility.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Emergency Department, including flow and capacity
  • Rotate into every area of the ED
  • Undertake the roles of Nurse-in-Charge and Emergency Nurse Practitioner
  • Be involved in the streaming of appropriate patients to Primary Care
  • Take on significant areas of managerial responsibility
Requirements
  • Post-registration experience within the specialty at a senior level
  • Evidence of professional/specialist clinical and managerial expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD and experience
  • Evidence of leadership, management, and team development at clinical level
  • Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners
  • Evidence of involvement in the development of protocols and clinical audit
Qualifications and Registration
  • Current NMC registration
  • Degree-level studies or equivalent portfolio of evidence
  • Management/leadership qualification
  • Post-basic qualification in specialty
