About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Finance Officer to join our Exchequer Services team in Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing timely, accurate, and efficient payment-related activities across various business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all payment-related activities, including processing payments, forecasting payment dates, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with LCC's authorisation matrix and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and other key internal departments.
  • Provide advice and guidance on policies and procedures to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform other duties as required to build greater resilience within the service.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced department is desirable but not essential.
  • Highly motivated, hardworking, and dedicated to thriving in a busy environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and other key internal departments.
  • Resilient with a proactive, positive approach.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Highly numerate and literate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Technical and analytical skills to investigate and resolve complex queries.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Disciplined and able to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in all areas of work.
  • Flexible and able to adapt work in line with changing priorities.
