Job Description

Creative Therapy Assistant

EdEx - Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to support the development of children in a primary school setting. As a Creative Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in bringing creativity and imagination into the classroom, helping students to communicate their emotions and develop social and emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching team in delivering creative arts and drama activities to students in EYFS, KS1, and KS2
  • Work with students with mild SEN, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language issues
  • Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans that align with the primary curriculum
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Contribute to the development of a 'special place' where students feel happy, safe, and valued

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a creative arts or drama setting
  • Strong creative skills and ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for bringing creativity into education and making a positive impact on students' lives
