We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Active Schools Coordinator to join our team at the City of Edinburgh Council. As a key member of our Children, Education and Justice Services department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing initiatives that promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote Active Schools initiatives
  • Design and deliver engaging physical activity and health education programs for children and young people
  • Work closely with teachers, coaches, and other education professionals to integrate Active Schools initiatives into the curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of Active Schools initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments within the Council to ensure alignment with broader education and community development goals

Requirements

  • Proven experience in education, community development, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of physical activity and health education principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
