Job Title: Senior Radiographer

Location: York Hospital

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Weekly Hours: 37.5

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Radiographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at York Hospital. As a Senior Radiographer, you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership and expertise in diagnostic imaging, including training and supervising junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake specialist examinations within scope of practice, including Dexa scanning, mammography, and MRI.
  • Provide clinical leadership within a specialist field in Diagnostic Imaging, including day-to-day supervision of staff, work scheduling, and input into recruitment and performance review.
  • Coordinate and participate in audits and the QA programme.
  • Review policies, procedures, and protocols and make recommendations regarding their content and application within area of responsibility.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
  • Participate in the Radiation Protection Supervision for the location, to assist in the monitoring, review, development, and maintenance of systems of work that ensure radiation exposure is restricted.

Requirements:

  • A caring nature and ability to see each patient as an individual.
  • Post-registration experience relevant to the role.
  • High levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • A postgraduate qualification in an area of specialization.
  • A BSC degree in diagnostic radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Excellent communication and team working abilities.
  • Highly organized and able to work well under pressure.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to lead by example.
