About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Transport Manager to join our team at JRL Group Ltd. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for managing our HGV fleet and ensuring the efficient allocation and prioritization of workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the transport team to increase efficiency and productivity
- Effective liaison with other departments to ensure seamless project delivery
- Ensure vehicle fleet compliance and maintenance, escalating any issues to Director level
- Assist the admin team in maintaining records and systems
- Motivate the team to understand legislative requirements and communicate effectively
- Ensure authorized vehicles are kept at designated operating centers
- Notify relevant authorities of changes to licenses or drivers
- Develop the Transport team through engagement, communication, and people development
- Manage FORS accreditation and driver hours/tachograph rules
Requirements:
- At least two years' experience in a similar logistics role
- Experience of FORS accreditation and audit process
- Experience of managing HGV fleet and operators license
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to follow and provide clear instructions
- Strong organizational skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Proactive in understanding business objectives and contributing ideas to increase efficiency
- Proactively contribute to long-term resource planning of the Transport Department
- Take ownership of addressing inefficiencies impacting the department's P&L
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Take the lead in resolving unforeseen problems
