Barclay Meade is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team in Hastings. As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for providing commercial leadership, support, and guidance to the business on a wide range of contractual and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial input to the timely development, approval, and submission of bids and proposals.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that the company's contractual obligations are communicated to project teams and support functions.
  • Resolve commercial issues and support project teams in managing contract changes.
  • Support the project procurement team in negotiating contractual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead in the negotiation of contract amendments and new agreements.
  • Review, re-draft, and negotiate customer contracts and agreements.
  • Protect and register the company's intellectual property rights.
  • Support new business proposals and help develop, improve, and maintain commercial policies and processes.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to gain UK Security Clearance (SC Level).
  • Previous experience in reviewing complex contractual documents.
  • Recognition of contract law.
  • Previous experience in a customer interface role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen with attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify key areas in contract terms that represent a significant risk to the company.
  • Ability to think laterally to resolve issues and disputes.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing own work to achieve objectives.
