Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special education needs school in Luton. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and challenging behaviors.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people with special educational needs, and will be able to provide individualized support to students with a range of needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and senior leadership team to develop and implement personalized learning plans, and will be responsible for supporting students with academic tasks, encouraging independence, and promoting positive behavior.

Responsibilities:
  • Support students with academic tasks and promote independence
  • Work with small groups and 1:1 to develop personalized learning plans
  • Encourage positive behavior and promote a supportive learning environment
  • Assist students with physical activities and personal care needs
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support
Requirements:
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational support role
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (preferred)
