Early Childhood Educator Job Description

At the Early Childhood Development Association of PEI, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters social-emotional and cognitive development.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment that promotes exploration and discovery.
  • Collaborate with families to ensure seamless communication and progress updates.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assist with supervision and reporting.
Requirements:
  • Certification as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 1/2 or Level 3.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a daycare setting for Level 1/2, or two years for Level 3.
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment through play-based activities.
  • Commitment to building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Fluency in English and familiarity with French is a bonus.
  • Emergency child care first aid, CPR, and criminal check/vulnerable sector check are required.
