Key Responsibilities- Marking and Assessment: You will be responsible for marking learner's portfolios against the appropriate marking scheme and making decisions on the evidence that a learner has produced for the qualification.
- Quality Assurance: You will ensure that the assessment methods used throughout the delivery of the qualification are those prescribed in the qualification specification.
- Learner Support: You will support learners by explaining the assessment process, including an explanation of the people involved in the assessment process.
- Record Keeping: You will maintain accurate and detailed records of learner's progress and assessment outcomes.
- Communication: You will provide constructive feedback to learners about their performance and achievement, giving clear explanations about the assessment decisions.
- Collaboration: You will work closely with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to create a sampling strategy for internal quality assurance.
- Professional Development: You will keep up to date with any changes made to IOSH policies, processes, or procedures, and to the content of the qualification specification.
- Knowledge and Experience: You will have a relevant subject expert qualification, qualified to at least Level 6 in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Sector. You will also have experience of marking qualification assessments, with IOSH or another Awarding Organisation.
- Skills and Abilities: You will have excellent organisation and planning skills, excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent written communication skills.
- Education and Training: You will hold a Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or equivalent, and have a strong understanding of OSH sector.
