The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Manager. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and developing your skills and knowledge in the wine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance by maximizing sales opportunities and optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with customers and driving business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Develop and execute a tasting events program, showcasing our extensive range of wines and spirits.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products and supporting your WSET qualification.
  • Ensure the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in all operational tasks, gaining a thorough understanding of the day-to-day operations of running a Majestic Wine store.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement changes to optimize store performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, processes, and mandatory training.
  • Take ownership of your development, utilizing the support and resources available.
  • Be an example of Majestic's Ways of Working and a source of support for more junior team members.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every single customer.
  • Prioritization and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivation, ability to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptability and resilience to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 & 3 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
