Job Title: Fuel Pricing Analyst

Motor Fuel Group is seeking a skilled Fuel Pricing Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's retail fuel pricing strategy is executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the physical properties of motor fuels and the workings of a petrol station forecourt.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager Fuels and Fuels Director to review and approve daily retail fuel prices that meet or exceed budget cash margin and volume targets.
  • Produce and maintain fuel pricing, costs, volume, margin, and associated reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Assist with the review of the entire MFG network's pricing strategy on an annual basis and on a site-by-site basis where necessary.
  • Liaise with PDI, Experian Catalist, OMJ, Tankfil, Fairbanks, and fuel suppliers as required.
Requirements:
  • A working knowledge of Fuels cost price methodologies (Platts/Argus) and other retail pricing tools/methodologies.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills; verbal, electronic, and written.
  • Computer literate with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a team and develop systems and processes.
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and apply solutions.
Work Context:

The post is based at MFG's Head office in St. Albans, but some business travel may be required from time to time. Additional hours will also be required to be worked from time to time over the contracted working hours to ensure that the needs of the business are met.

A rota system will be organised within the team to cover out of hours/weekend business needs.
