Job Title: Fuel Pricing Analyst

Motor Fuel Group is seeking a skilled Fuel Pricing Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our retail fuel prices are optimized to maximize gross profit.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve daily retail fuel prices to ensure they align with our pricing strategies and maximize fuel gross profit.
  • Produce and maintain fuel pricing, costs, volume, margin, and associated reports to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Operations team and MFG sites to ensure timely distribution and confirmation of approved price changes.
  • Monitor and update MFG Site details, including new sites, site disposals, brand and contracted cost of product changes, and site/retailer details.
  • Identify and add new competitors to the MFG Pricing system and update the system with Catalist monthly changes in site ownership and brands.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of the physical properties of all motor fuel types.
  • Understanding of MFG's Contract Manager based mode of operation.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills; verbal, electronic, and written.
  • Computer literate with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a team and develop systems and processes.
Work Context:

The post is based at MFG's Head office in St. Albans, with some business travel required from time to time. Additional hours may be required to be worked over contracted working hours to ensure the needs of the business are met.

A rota system will be organized within the team to cover out of hours/weekend business needs.
