About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geriatrician to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Elderly Care, you will play a key role in developing and managing our Geriatric inpatient ward and frailty service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of our Care of the Elderly service, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide expert clinical opinion and advice to medical colleagues across the trust, ensuring seamless care for our patients.
  • Liaise with medical staff in other specialties, participating in regular clinical meetings and post-graduate activities.
  • Support the frail elderly patients on our Acute Medical Unit, working collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality care.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration
  • Experience in teaching healthcare professionals and medical students in an Acute Medicine setting
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and develop the service
