We are excited to announce an opportunity for Geriatricians to join our esteemed team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where you will play a vital role in enhancing our Geriatric Medicine services. The ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative and welcoming atmosphere, working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the advancement of the Elderly Care service
  • Provide shared out-of-hours coverage for General Internal Medicine
  • Deliver consultation and advisory support to medical peers
  • Engage in clinical discussions and postgraduate educational activities

We welcome applicants with a specialty interest in areas such as Parkinson's Disease, Community Geriatrics, Acute Frailty, Ortho-Geriatrics, or Stroke Medicine. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing elderly patients with intricate medical and psychosocial challenges, in addition to supporting frail elderly individuals within the Acute Medical Unit.

Person Specification:
  • Education and Qualifications:
    • MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree
    • MRCP or similar qualification
    • Full GMC registration required
  • Experience & Knowledge:
    • Proven ability to provide expert clinical insights across a diverse range of medical issues
  • Academic Achievements:
    • Familiarity with research methodologies
    • Experience in executing clinical audits
  • Key Skills:
    • Passion for teaching and mentoring
    • Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities
    • Aptitude for performing under pressure
