About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Social Worker to join our Children We Care For Services team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support to vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to assess needs and develop effective care plans.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies on child welfare and protection issues.
- Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to identify and address potential risks to children's safety and well-being.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including children, young people, families, and professionals.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
Requirements
- Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, Post Graduate Certificate in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Completed relevant post-qualifying training and at least one year's experience post-qualification.
- Registration with the relevant professional body.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and data.
- A good understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma, as well as anti-oppressive, anti-discriminatory, and anti-racist practice in social work.
