Job Overview

Position: IT Application Specialist

Salary: £55,000

Location: City of London

Work Model: Hybrid - 60% Office, 40% Remote

This role involves working within the Application Services team, a newly established unit in the IT Operations department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing various third-party software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business users to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve second-line IT incidents related to applications.
  • Evaluate the impact of issues on business operations to facilitate effective issue triaging and escalation.
  • Engage with software vendors for advanced troubleshooting and support.
  • Coordinate with the Application Services Manager and the Service Desk team.
  • Provide insights to the team regarding known errors and potential workarounds for incidents and problems.
  • Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers to enhance application performance and drive business improvements.
  • Assist in all phases of application modifications and fixes, from design and testing to deployment.
  • Offer guidance and consultation on application-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software application support.
  • Experience in the insurance sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Incident Management, Service Transition, Change & Problem Management, and Vendor Management is advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive experience with service desk tools for tracking issues and problems.
  • Desirable Skills:
    SQL
    Understanding of software development processes
    SharePoint
    ITIL v3 or v4 certification
