The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior or Principal Flood Modeller/Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Sciences team at Stantec UK. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and independently to deliver technical work, manage projects, and assist junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Modelling (fluvial, pluvial, and tidal) using hydraulic modelling software
  • Develop and manage projects, including setting up and managing projects, developing fee proposals, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders
  • Work with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to undertake site visits and provide technical expertise
  • Conduct hydraulic modelling (1D, 2D, and 1D-2D) of rivers, including flood modelling, discharge impact assessments, and normal/low flow/water resources modelling
  • Perform Environmental Impact Assessments, fluvial geomorphology audits, hydromorphological impact assessments, and Water Framework Directive assessments
  • Develop and implement bespoke hydrological assessments, hydrological monitoring, and river restoration projects

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in hydraulic modelling software, hydrological assessments, and flow estimation. You should hold a degree in Environmental Science and a relevant master's degree. Chartered status with a relevant professional institution is essential, although we will consider and support individuals currently working towards obtaining chartership.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, giving access to a wide range of exciting projects in the UK.
