Job Summary:

H&P Executive Search is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join its Reinsurance Advisory team in the EMEA region. This role focuses on providing expert legal support to reinsurance business units across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, ensuring the successful execution of business initiatives while maintaining compliance with external and internal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal guidance on reinsurance matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, including data protection and market conduct, to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage legal aspects of projects within the EMEA region, including cross-border transactions and collaborations.
  • Develop and improve legal templates, policies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
  • Monitor legal developments and conduct training sessions to ensure the team remains up-to-date on the latest industry trends and regulations.
  • Coordinate with and optimize the use of external legal counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified lawyer (bar exam) in the UK or any EU jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, ideally in the (re)insurance sector.
  • Strong experience in reinsurance law, regulatory matters, and cross-border legal issues.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as French, Italian, Arabic, or Spanish are a plus.
