Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Ethics Counsel to join our team at Heriot Brown In-House Legal Recruitment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Program Management: Develop, implement, and oversee compliance programs to ensure alignment with local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ethics and Integrity: Promote a culture of ethics and integrity across the organization by developing and delivering training programs, policies, and procedures related to ethical business practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance and ethical risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Provide legal counsel on various compliance-related matters, including anti-corruption, anti-bribery, labor laws, environmental regulations, and data privacy.
  • Investigations: Lead internal investigations into compliance and ethics issues, ensuring thorough documentation and appropriate resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Solicitor qualification in England and Wales, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' legal experience in compliance and ethics, ideally within the construction or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant UK laws and regulations, including the UK Bribery Act, Health and Safety laws, and Environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
