Medical Microbiologist

Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Physician to join our team in Medical Microbiology and Virology. As a key member of our Laboratory Infection Sciences team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the delivery of Infection services across our Network.
We are committed to providing world-class patient care, and our departments of Microbiology and Virology/Molecular Pathology have full UKAS accreditation. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping the future infection laboratory provision through significant procurement and transformation projects.
As a Consultant Physician, you will be responsible for reporting clinical samples, liaising with clinicians, and providing quality assurance. You will also support Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) with routine interpretation work, participate in outbreak and root cause analysis, and conduct ITU/HDU ward rounds.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of infection control principles, and the ability to work effectively in a team. You will be required to keep up to date with mandatory training, job planning, and appraisal.
