Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Staffing Supervisor within the East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This role is structured on a full-time basis, adhering to a predetermined rota pattern, which may include some unsocial hours.

The successful candidate will oversee and guide the Emergency Medical Assistance (EMA) Team, focusing on all facets of personnel support while fostering a nurturing, encouraging, and empathetic leadership environment throughout the EOC. This position is pivotal in aiding the organization in its ongoing mission to uphold our core values and vision.

Reporting directly to the EOC Senior Manager Performance, the Staffing Supervisor will manage a designated group of personnel within their area of responsibility. This includes certain line management duties for EOC-based teams, encompassing non-clinical staff.

The EOC Staffing Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that their teams adhere to all pertinent quality and workforce standards. This role will be accountable for various key performance metrics across multiple interdisciplinary teams. The Staffing Supervisor will operate independently, providing management coverage to ensure seamless operations and delivering high-quality, visible leadership.

Key Responsibilities

The Staffing Supervisor will work flexibly within their designated area, offering support, guidance, and advice to all personnel stationed at or visiting the EOCs. This role will serve as the primary leadership contact for all staff-related matters and will liaise with local stakeholders and external organizations as necessary.

Additionally, the Staffing Supervisor will provide continuous support and feedback to EOC teams following operational and clinical incidents. Collaborating closely with team managers, the role will ensure that staff supervision, performance evaluations, training, and development needs are consistently met.

The Staffing Supervisor will oversee and manage relevant investigations, addressing complaints and issues while ensuring prompt resolutions when feasible. This role will also extend support across the EOC and broader Operations concerning investigations.

Furthermore, the post holder will assist the EOC in designing and implementing local transformational initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and improving efficiency. This includes acting as a local representative for operational or external stakeholder engagement. The Staffing Supervisor will also contribute to the overall resilience of the EOC and the organization, undertaking relevant command qualifications as appropriate.
