About the Team:

The Valuation and Strategic Assets (VASA) team operates within the broader Climate and Inclusive Growth directorate. Our focus is on the strategic management of land and assets, which are vital for delivering services across health, children's services, leisure, libraries, and education.

VASA comprises a diverse group of multi-disciplinary professionals who provide support and expertise across the Council, collaborating closely with external partners such as the NHS. Our team is dedicated to generating revenue from the commercial investment portfolio while also fostering social value through community assets, ensuring that these resources are utilized safely and effectively.

About the Role:

Lambeth is devoted to nurturing a sustainable and vibrant third sector, having recently established a new Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Asset Strategy. A crucial aspect of this strategy is to enhance communication between the Council and VCS tenants.

The Community Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in facilitating collaboration between the Council and the VCS within the Borough. This position holds significant potential to drive meaningful change across the community.

The Officer will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the social value outcomes from the VCS portfolio. Additionally, the role involves developing technical property skills and knowledge by providing property advice to the sector, in conjunction with the Council's managing agents.

A collaborative mindset, excellent communication, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with commercial property and knowledge of key landlord & tenant and health & safety legislation would be beneficial.
