Consultant Hepatologist Position

This is a new consultant hepatology expansion post supported by the investment in the Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). The CDC is a brand-new, purpose-built two-floor health facility situated in the heart of Hinckley, operating 7 days a week, offering an extensive set of diagnostic services, including endoscopy, to meet the healthcare needs of the local population and its surroundings.
Main Responsibilities- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
- Sharing responsibility with colleagues for the day-to-day management of patients.
- Promoting new ways of working and coordinating care for patients in the community, ensuring services are based on effective and integrated partnerships across the health community.
- Participating in multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Supervising and training junior medical staff.
- Being involved in appraising and assessing juniors.
- Teaching, research, and administration.
- Proactively developing the service.
- Endoscopy and outpatient sessions across the UHL sites and into the community hospitals.
- Ward rounds, GI bleed on call.

Training and Qualifications
Essential
- Fully accredited for higher specialist training or will be eligible within 6 months.
Experience

- Ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems.

- Post CCT fellowship in hepatology.
