Role Overview:

As an EV Project Manager at BES Electrical, you will spearhead our growing portfolio of electric vehicle projects. Your role will encompass the planning, execution, and successful delivery of EV infrastructure initiatives, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints. This position demands strong leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse team of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal personnel, while also nurturing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of EV projects from inception to completion. Ensure timely delivery within the defined scope and budget, while achieving critical project milestones and effectively managing construction phase plans.
  • Financial Management: Supervise project budgets and conduct valuations to maintain financial accountability and profitability. Evaluate pricing structures to enhance cost efficiency, while controlling expenses related to labor, materials, and external contractors.
  • Design and Regulatory Compliance: Validate project designs to ensure they align with regulatory standards and client expectations. Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to guarantee compliance with safety regulations. Develop and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) as well as Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Subcontractor and Site Oversight: Cultivate relationships with subcontractors, ensuring clarity and adherence to contracts. Coordinate with Distribution Network Operators (DNO) and manage any necessary adjustments to project plans. Supervise on-site teams, including managing personnel absences to ensure project continuity.
  • Client and Stakeholder Interaction: Act as the primary contact for project clients, fostering and maintaining strong relationships. Organize regular update meetings with clients and stakeholders to ensure transparency and engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Manage logistics for material supply to adhere to project timelines.
  • Strategic and Operational Support: Assist surveyors and other stakeholders in the valuation and application of project deliverables. Document and obtain approval for all project alterations, ensuring compliance with relevant authorities. Optimize scheduling and programming of works to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Electrician (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management within the electrical or EV infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing P&L.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and subcontractors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation, and challenges associated with EV infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications in project management and health and safety (desirable)
