We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Materials Controller to join our team at Workshop Recruitment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials to our production units and maintaining stock accuracy.
Main Responsibilities:- Interpret production plans and raw material requirements to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Conduct regular stock checks to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to transactional errors and material variances.
- Communicate with the planning and procurement departments to resolve issues related to short deliveries from suppliers.
- Optimize shunting hours to ensure efficient material transfer between warehouses.
- Plan and control the unloading of inbound deliveries of raw materials and finished goods.
- Report any safety incidents or near misses to the Team Leader or Warehouse Manager.
- Authorize work instructions to ensure team resources align with production requirements.
- Conduct full stock checks and report any discrepancies to the Accounts Department.
- Raise shop orders to manage inventory levels and make business decisions.
- Locate receipted goods accurately within designated zones in the warehouse.
- Provide supervisory cover for the shift, including work allocation, output, and problem-solving.
- Manage team performance and handover completion after each shift.
- Monitor the Overview page to ensure system integrity and alertness.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and lead.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills to resolve inventory management issues.
- Numerate and literate, with experience in inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot system issues.
- Clear communication skills to explain issues concisely.
- High-level knowledge of warehousing principles, inventory management, and WMS systems.
- Proven experience in achieving workloads within set timeframes and complying with procedures and policies.
- Able to train new staff to the required standard.
- Previous experience with SNAP and BPCS systems.
- GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths.
- Counterbalance/Reach Truck fork lift trained.
- IOSH trained or equivalent - desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
- Ability to motivate and be an effective team player.
- Professional, adaptable, flexible, and forward-looking.
- Positive 'Can do' attitude with a willingness to take on new opportunities and develop.
