In this position, you will oversee and manage the company's procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations. The inventory management component focuses on ensuring the proper supply, storage, and accessibility of materials to maintain sufficient stock levels without incurring excess inventory. The logistics aspect entails the seamless integration of information, transportation, material handling, and packaging from the point of origin to the point of consumption, ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will actively collaborate with the purchasing team to fulfill their requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive work ethic and demonstrate the ability to function effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance & Delivery

  1. This role demands high engagement, including placing orders with suppliers based on forecasts, stock levels, and input from the scheduling team, while ensuring timely delivery and addressing supplier inquiries.
  2. Manage customer expectations in alignment with established service levels.

Inventory Management

  1. Maintain ongoing and timely communication with key internal departments.
  2. Gather and present accurate qualitative measurements of inventory holdings, providing clear visibility to the organization.
  3. Proactively manage component replenishment lead times in accordance with set KPIs, ensuring minimum stock levels and supplier availability.
  4. Oversee the returns and defective goods processes.
  5. Support the replenishment process for emergency kits.
  6. Assist in managing duplication, obsolescence, and non-moving stock.
  7. Aid in the management of company assets and their maintenance, including tools and specialized testing equipment.
  8. Understand and address storage space requirements for inventory.
  9. Ensure adherence to quality management practices.
  10. Comply with environmental regulations.

Successfully balancing these competing demands will lead to optimal inventory levels, a continuous task as business needs evolve.

Logistics Management

  1. Ensure the timely return of emergency kits.
  2. Manage reverse logistics procedures for non-emergency kit inventory.
  3. Monitor logistics partners and solutions in terms of performance and cost.
  4. Collaborate with the Service Supply Chain Supervisor to evaluate current courier solutions.
  5. Coordinate the internal loan and return process for specialized testing equipment.
  6. Potentially oversee the sending and returning of internal tooling items for engineers.

Procurement

  1. Generate purchase orders promptly, updating the system as necessary.
  2. Contribute to cost reduction initiatives for process improvements and material supply, tracking raw material costs and market trends.
  3. Assist in reporting supplier performance based on established measurement criteria.
  4. Support the development of internal systems and procedures related to MRP, stock control, and forecasting.
  5. Help implement and execute a procurement strategy for legacy products.
  6. May be responsible for managing rebates proactively.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

  1. Assist in ensuring that all suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors are vetted and approved for use.
  2. Strive to minimize gas and electricity consumption, reduce landfill waste, and prevent major environmental incidents.
  3. Promote awareness of the management system and its operational elements, including health, safety, and environmental management.

Reporting

  1. Support the National Service Supply Chain Supervisor with reporting requirements.
  2. Ensure compliance with all QHSE standards.
  3. Discuss and agree upon all KPIs and reports with relevant stakeholders.

Interactions:

Collaborate with customers, schedulers, the National Service Supply Chain Supervisor, regional operations teams, key accounts, technical support staff, service contract sales, product operations, subcontract service providers, and suppliers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Experience in a similar inventory, warehouse, or logistics role.
  2. Understanding of basic planning, forecasting, and stock projection principles.
  3. Familiarity with warehouse and logistics processes and procedures.
  4. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  6. Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Commercially savvy with strong negotiation abilities.
  8. Ability to interface successfully with various departments and personnel in potentially high-pressure situations.
