Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to head our Reading service office. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry and a strong technical knowledge of air conditioning and chiller systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team of service engineers and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to complete their duties effectively.
- Handle client requests, including quotations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
- Achieve depot revenue budget and maintain depot margin.
- Ensure all maintenance renewals are sent promptly and priced correctly.
- Review engineer worksheets daily and correct for errors, commenting on individual engineer worksheets for correction and/or praise.
- Nurture engineer and support team learning and career progress, completing yearly appraisals and actioning findings and requests.
- Approve all engineer and support staff holiday requests and sickness/time off requests, liaising with Human Resources.
- Ensure all branch work activity is conducted with the company's health and safety systems of work, focusing on documented risk assessments and engineer point of work risk assessments.
- Report any accidents and/or near misses to Service Director, with written reports.
- Ensure all engineers have regular in-house instruction as required, and plan, arrange, and authorise engineers to attend external training courses as needed.
- Ensure all engineers have all necessary equipment and tooling to enable them to complete repairs/maintenance in a professional and safe way.
- Ensure engineer good housekeeping practices through regular checks.
- Maintain good housekeeping of service office, warehouse, and building surrounds.
