Technical Project Manager Electrical

MTM Engineering Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team in Strabane, with occasional travel in Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-construction/construction activities for our clients on both pre-construction design and in live project settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide electrical engineering input to projects in design and work in progress.
  • Support and advise on securing potential projects and opportunities through client interaction and tender/bidding processes.
  • Attend regular technical meetings with clients and internal teams.
  • Review specifications and drawings, generating RFI and CDE documents as needed.
  • Lead technical review of outsourced specialist equipment, such as LV Switchgear and busbar products.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and ensure all parties understand their obligations.
  • Monitor project performance and coordinate with site management teams.
  • Participate in negotiations for extra work and resolve disputes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide clear leadership to teams across assigned sites.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients to ensure expectations are met.
  • Meet regularly with clients, stakeholders, and operations managers to discuss project progression.
Requirements:
  • 3rd Level qualification or relevant trade industry experience with a proven track record.
  • Experience working on electrical packages as a contracts manager or site-based foreman is advantageous.
  • Experience in purchasing and negotiating with supply chain and sub-contractors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and understand contract provisions and requirements.
  • Negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Adept at communicating.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal BIM/CAD teams to build out designs.
