IT Service Desk 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer - 24x7 Ops

We are seeking an experienced IT service desk, IT support engineer to join our new 24x7 operations team. As a 2nd and 3rd line IT support professional, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve complex incidents, providing efficient and timely solutions to maintain high service levels.
  • Patch Management: Regularly test and patch systems and software to ensure security and functionality.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT processes and procedures.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing clear and concise information on IT-related matters.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance IT service delivery.

As a 24x7 IT support specialist, you will have extensive experience in commercial IT support, covering 2nd line and 3rd line duties. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, including:

  • Windows 10/11 and Office 365 suite
  • Windows Server 2016 to 2022 and Active Directory Administration
  • VMware Horizon, ESXi & vSphere and Enterprise Cloud Platforms - Azure/AWS
  • Mobile Device Management Solutions and Software/Hardware Infrastructure Patching
  • End User Hardware - Laptops/Thin Clients and Enterprise Backup Solutions
  • Anti-Virus Solutions and Networking Fundamentals
  • SharePoint Administration and ITIL qualified

Due to the nature of the business, this role requires someone who currently holds Security Clearance or is able to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining DV clearance. The role will also require someone who can drive due to the 24x7 element and shift patterns.
