About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Art Therapist to join our SEND advisory service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality art therapy services to students with SEND
  • Work collaboratively with our specialist advisory teachers, HLTAs, and technicians to develop and implement effective support plans
  • Contribute to the development of our Medical Inclusion Service offer, ensuring that our most vulnerable children and young people access a high-quality educational offer
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, families, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students

Requirements

  • BAAT qualification and experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural, and/or mental health needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues
  • Efficient and accountable record management, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Flexible and child-centered approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
