About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Play Therapist to join our dynamic SEND advisory service at the London Borough of Redbridge. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality play therapy services to students with SEMH, behavioural, and/or mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with our specialist advisory teachers, HLTAs, and technicians to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Contribute to the development of our Medical Inclusion Home Tuition Service, ensuring a child-focused approach to supporting students who are unable to attend school.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient records of student progress and support provided.

Requirements

  • Full qualification in Play Therapy (BAPT accredited).
  • Proven experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural, and/or mental health needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Flexible and child-centered approach to support.
