About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Technician to join our team at Mersey Engineering. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering on-time delivery, continuous flow, customer satisfaction, and zero defects across a rolling shift pattern or day role.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance on heavy plant and equipment, including planned and reactive maintenance activities, and modifications to all types of heavy plant and equipment.
  • Liaise with operations to prioritise breakdown repairs, using fault finding diagnostic techniques and equipment to reduce the impact of reactive maintenance.
  • Assist the team in a range of activities, including project work, QA systems, and Health and Safety.
  • Document all activities and ensure they are carried out with due care and attention in line with our Health and Safety policy and HSE regulations.
What We're Looking For
  • A minimum of ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, with experience of working with heavy plant and equipment in an industrial environment, ideally gained within Quarrying or Bulk Handling operations.
  • Extensive practical experience with relevant plant and equipment, including conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to fault find and problem solve, utilising diagnostic equipment.
  • A sound working knowledge of Permit to Work systems and incident reporting.
  • A working knowledge of Programmable Logical Control or drive control systems and HV networks.
  • Knowledge of CMMS, i.e. SAP, and document sharing software, as well as effective maintenance strategies such as RCM, PM, CBM, and TPM.
  • A full valid Driving Licence is essential for this role.
